Bulk Solids Sampling: M&W Samplers – HP
Sampling from belt conveyors can be tricky but with M&W’s Cross Belt Hammer Sampler you can take representative samples from the whole cross section of the conveyed material with ease.
Best suited for granular material e.g. biomass pellets, the HP can be placed anywhere along the conveyor belt and its operating principle matches international standards for sampling.
When a sample is required the hammer sweeps one revolution across the conveyor whereby the hollow hammer head cuts through the material stream on the belt. The sample is captured inside the hammer head and emptied over the sample outlet chute.
The hammer is actuated by an electric motor with integrated brake to accelerate and decelerate the hammer, before returning it to its rest position safely away from the material stream.
